Optimisation of the Kelly Process

Research team: F. M. D. Ismail and Dr N S Isaacs

Programme of studies:

Our replacement of the highly polluting Kelly Process with an atom efficient synthesis of mercaptobenzothiazole (MBT), an accelarator used in world-wide rubber production, has significantly reduced both airborne and landfill pollution in the US.
